Final image

I based my chosen image on this one of Marilyn Monroe- I wanted to recreate the image as it was an interesting image which i believed would be a strong image for a front cover.

 This was my first shoot- which didn't have the right 'look'- as the pose wasn't conventional enough and the model wasn't able to create the look of the '60's beauty' (Marilyn Monroe)

After taking this image i notcied there was a vintage feel to the image.The pose, lighting and content of the image looks like images used in the Golden Age of Hollywood. This gave me a different idea. This was to create a retro satyle magazine, including both 'retor' music as well as modern music considered to have a retro sound. this will challenge me not to just create a music magazine that looks coventional, but to still relate to the genre of music choosen. This choice of genre has given me a USP (unique selling point) as there isnt a large number of magazines that include this idea. This is pushing against the Ziegiest of magazines at this present time, as it is considered to be either pop magazines or rock features. When creating my magazine i will continue to look at Q as they use strong images to create a 'good look.' I will have to do this to create a retro yet modern look to my magazine. As well as this, i will look at The Rolling Stone magazine as it is known to create some editions that play on the vintage look through the use of fonts, images and colours.
